Room hire at Norfolk Record Office

The Norfolk Record Office has three areas in The Archive Centre, Norwich which are available for hire. These include the Green Room, the Glass Cube and the Long Gallery. You can access each room from the County Hall site. We have full wheelchair access.

The Green Room

The Green Room has:

• Data projection
• Access to the internet
• A large screen
• Flip charts
• White boards

You can adjust the lighting to suit your requirements and a hearing loop is available.

We have 3 room layouts available:

Boardroom

A set of tables in an oblong shape with chairs. This layout can accommodate approximately 24 people.

Café style

Tables placed around the room. This layout can accommodate a maximum of 30 people.

Theatre style

Rows of chairs facing the front with no tables. This layout can accommodate a maximum of 50 people.

Costs

Local authorities:

• £132 half day or evening (£110 plus VAT) 
• £186 for a full day (£155 plus VAT)

External:

• £222 half day or evening (£185 plus VAT) 
• £270 for a full day (£225 plus VAT) 

The Glass Cube

The Cube is a small room which you can access via the Green Room. It is available as an additional room when booking the Green Room. Tables and chairs are available within the room. A boardroom style layout will accommodate approximately 10 people.

Costs

The costs for the Glass cube booked with Green room are:

Local authorities:

• £54 half day or evening (£45 plus VAT) 
• £96 for a full day (£80 plus VAT)

External:

• £78 half day or evening (£65 plus VAT)
• £126 for a full day (£105 plus VAT) 

The Long Gallery

The Long Gallery is a long rectangle area. It is available for hire out of the Record Office's normal opening hours. If hiring the Green Room you can open the double doors to enable people to move between the two.

Costs

The costs for the Long Gallery out of normal hours only are:

Local authorities:

• £150 half day or evening (£125 plus VAT) 
• £192 full day (£160 plus VAT) 

External:

• £192 half day or evening (£160 plus VAT) 
• £288 full day (£240 plus VAT) 

Additional Information

You are welcome to bring your own food and drink or use an outside caterer. (NCC staff can also use the restaurant in the basement of County Hall). 

Please note that parking spaces may be available for attendees. We cannot guarantee this. Please contact the Norse Group at carparking@ncsgrp.co.uk to enquire about parking.

The Harford Park and Ride provides a bus service from both Harford and Sprowston. This goes to the bus stop on the County Hall site, just outside The Archive Centre.

Please contact us at norfrec@norfolk.gov.uk to check availability and request a booking form. We can hold provisional bookings for up to 24 hours. Within this time you will need to confirm in writing if you wish to continue with your booking.

There is an advance booking fee if booking more than three weeks in advance. The in-advance booking fee costs are:

• Local authorities: £54 (£45 plus VAT) 
• External: £72 (£60 plus VAT) 

Please note we don't accept block bookings.

We take payment after the event by journal transfer or invoice. 

Any cancellations must be in writing. We reserve the right to make a cancellation charge.

You will need to pay extra charges for breakages or necessary cleaning incurred during your booking.
