Key Stages 2-4 visits
We have a dedicated education and outreach team, providing school workshops and other materials.
Please view our current Schools Programme for information about workshops inside your school and at The Archive Centre.
Our recent workshops and projects with schools in Norfolk can be found on the schools pages of our blog. (opens new window)
Visiting the Norfolk Record Office (NRO)
Workshops at the NRO incorporate original documents from the period of your study. There will be an introduction to document handling before the originals are explored.
Cost
Our standard workshops are free of charge for non-fee paying schools. For fee paying schools we charge £120 for a two-hour workshop.
If your workshop requires additional preparation in advance (for example you would like us to tailor it to suit your local area or an element of your curriculum) there will be a charge of £60 per hour.
Class size
Most of our workshops are suitable for classes of up to 30 pupils. However, some workshops can be adapted to accommodate larger groups.
If you wish to bring more than 30 pupils, please contact the education and outreach team to discuss possibilities.
Getting to The Archive Centre
Coaches are able to drop-off and pick-up within the County Hall car park, just a short distance from our entrance.
Lunches
Pupils are welcome to use the Green Room or outdoor space for their lunch.
Bookings
Please contact the education and outreach team to arrange a visit. Once a provisional date has been agreed we will send out a booking form which you need to complete to confirm the workshop.
