Sound archive user agreement
Sound recordings made available by the Norfolk Record Office (NRO) through its sound archive are governed by licence agreements between NRO and the licensors.
For this reason, some sound recordings can only be made available at the NRO, while others can be listened to on the internet.
By listening to electronic copies of sound archive material via our online catalogue NROCAT, or by ordering sound archive material in our public searchroom, users agree to the following terms:
- Sound archive recordings are made available by the NRO for private learning and research purposes only. Any requests to use the material in other ways should be addressed to the NRO.
- Sound recordings and related material must be used ethically; avoiding illegal sharing, misquotation, misappropriation or decontextualisation. In addition, by using material from the sound archive, users acknowledge that all recordings are governed by the NRO sound archive's take down policy.
